Appointment to the board

Andrew was appointed as financial director and to the board in January 2011 and elected as chief executive officer in August 2014.
A seasoned real estate executive, he is responsible for the day-to-day management of Redefine and for ensuring the board’s strategy is implemented as well as all aspects of regulatory compliance, corporate activity and reputation management. He is supported by the executive committee.

Previous experience

Andrew is a qualified chartered accountant with 30 years of commercial and financial experience. In his capacity as CEO, Andrew has be integrally involved in shaping Redefine’s local and international asset platform into what it is today through merger, acquisition, development and disposal activities exceeding R100billion.

Chief operating officer

Appointment to the board

Leon was appointed as financial director and to the board in October 2014 and elected as chief operating officer in February 2021. He is responsible for all aspects of the asset and property management of the business, which includes the general administration of the property portfolio.

Previous experience

Leon is a chartered accountant with an excellent blend of operational experience, sound business acumen and investment management knowledge. He joined Redefine in 2014 from a 13-yearcareer in the hospitality industry.

Appointment to the board

Appointed in February 2021. He is responsible for all aspects of finance and digital transformation, and supports the chief executive officer in corporate activities, regulatory compliance, information and communication governance and investor relations.

Previous experience

A seasoned executive and qualified CA with over 16 years’ experience, Ntobeko joins from Stanlib, where served as chief operating officer. Prior to that, he was chief financial officer of Alexander Forbes Emerging Markets, responsible for driving African expansion in partnership with the chief executive officer.
